- Additional details: Vehicle will be provided or mileage reimbursed. Company vehicles are equipped with telematics systems for safety, operational efficiency, and compliance purposes. GPS units and other field equipment will be provided by WEST; however, field technicians must be equipped with suitable footwear (rugged hiking boots).
Job Description: Primary duties will involve conducting eagle fatality monitoring at wind energy facilities. Fieldwork may require long days in often hot (often over 100° F) and windy conditions. Candidate must be comfortable with hazards typical of the desert environment (sharp vegetation, rattlesnakes, driving a four-wheel drive vehicle, dust, extreme heat and cold). Job duties require use of compass, range-finder, tablet, and Global Positioning System (GPS) devices. Training will be provided. An average work week may include 40 hours; however, shorter or longer hours may be necessary for some weeks, depending on the project and seasonal workloads.
